Welcome to Hybrid Games Live Blog of the Konami's E3 2008 press conference. It starts at 2:30 p.m. Pacific time (5:30 p.m. Eastern time) - Wednesday, July 16, 2008.

US, July 16, 2008 - I'm almost done with these. You know I haven't slept in three days? I love you guys that much. Keep refreshing to see my love in the form of constantly updating news.

2:39 - Okay we're here. They haven't started yet. The guy next to me smells like chicken soup and looks like that long haired guy from the Lone Gunemen.

2:42 - Jay Boor is on stage, telling me I can take photos. Thanks Jay!

2:43 - Anthony Krause is on stage talking about how great a year it's been for Konami. --oh god the guy next to me just burped and it smells like one of those caves after fish get washed into it then get stuck when the tide comes out so they die and rot in there.

2:45 - Smelly guy is distracting me from the announcement that there will be a Metal Gear Online tournament at Tokyo Game Show and at the San Diego Comic Con.

2:46 - Rock Revolution and Karaoke Revolution is the official game sponsor of the Linkin Park Revolution Tour. Nothing says "official American Idol game" like Linkin Park!

2:47 - First time in Konami history that they've released games across all their major franchises in a single year.

2:48 - Krause likes Elebits. Says DS version is "really good."

2:49 - Koji Igarashi is on stage. He's wearing a cowboy hat and is gonna talk about Castlevania.

2:50 - Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia trailer. Shots of Shanoa gameplay. Looks like there is underwater levels, shipwreck levels, living dinosaur skeletons, and Frankenstein's monster.

2:51 - Fall 2008.

2:52 - Smelly McStankster next to me raised his arms and I died for a second.

2:53 - Igarashi refers to Castlevania Judgement as a "3D Action Versus game", not a fighting game.

2:54 - Lots of combo heavy moves and powerup attacks. Obligatory little girl character. Seems like a fighting game to me!

2:56 - Igarashi: "After you see the trailer I hope you see that... it's an action game." Not buying it so much, Igarashi-san.

2:57 - Takeshi Obata, manga artist, helped do the art design for Castlevania Judgement.

2:58 - Igarashi is doing a demo. Uses the thumbstick on the Nunchuk to move the character. Z button for blocking. C for jumping. Shaking the Nunchuk dodges.

2:59 - Use the Wii Remote like a whip to attack with Simon Belmont.

3:00 - Igarashi says the reason the Wii doesn't have a traditional Castlevania game for Wii game is that he wanted to make a game that could be played for hours of a time, and using the Wii Remote to fling the remote for hours would get exhausting.

3:02 - Different attacks for if you're moving or standing still. Can destroy objects on the field and collect hearts and items.

3:03 - The movement is definitely more free than a normal fighting game. Plus the ability to use objects as weapons. It's definitely not a traditional fighter.

3:05 - Certain levels have NPCs like zombies that can attack either the player or opponent.

3:06 - The translator forgot Jason Allen's name.

3:07 - Jason Allen is on stage and showed a trailer for Silent Hill Homecoming. It's got a creepy little boy this time named Josh.

3:08 - Walkthrough demo of the game. Seriously smelly hippie guy has a weird musty smell. Like he's a zombie or something.

3:09 - Has a first person mode that lets you see items up close so you know what you're grabbing.

3:11 - The transition from normal world to hell world has a grain filter to make them both feel very different.

3:11 - There's a dialog tree in the game to learn more about the story.

3:12 - The grain filter makes the Hell World look like an old-timey movie.

3:13 - The mayor just got smooshed!

3:15 - Bosses can be defeated in different ways. We're seeing this huge upside down hanging monster that is supported in the air by hanging... meat sacks.

3:16 - Demo cuts off before we see Alex kill the boss.

3:17 - Lauren Faccidomo is on stage to talk about Rock Revolution.

3:18 - The Sheenas, an all female Ramones Tribute band is on stage to play real instruments and generally rock out.

3:19 - Smelly guy is so excited by the Sheenas that he got out of his seat to take pictures. I almost barfed when he squeezed by me.

3:20 - Lauren Faccidomo is rocking the 'eff out.

3:21 - Lauren and a Konami guy are playing Blitzkrieg Bop on the game now. They suck at it. Daemon would have been better at the drums.

3:22 - Everything about this sounds awful. The cover is terrible, the sound effects for missing notes hurt my ears and-- THEY FAILED THE SONG!

3:22 - And it's over. Konami ends the press conference by failing at their own game.
