  • Welcome to Hybrid Games' Liveblog of Nintendo's E3 2011 Press Conference.
  • We are only 3 minutes away from zero hour, are you all ready for the Project Cafe announcement?
  • The security to get into the Nokia Theatre is a bit ridiculous, so we'll be starting late. People are still filing in.
  • We are expecting to see Project Cafe, Sonic Generations for 3DS & Project Cafe, Super Mario, 3DS, Star Fox 64 3D, MGS: Snake Eater 3D, Zelda: Skyward Sword
  • Lights dimming, a choir has just filed out. Zelda footage, choir singing
  • Showing original Zelda, Zelda cartoon, Zelda 2.
  • Progressing through the years of The Legend of Zelda.
  • Game by game, all the way through the franchise
  • Still going. If you can think of a Zelda game, they're showing footage.
  • Skyward Sword footage now.
  • The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary. Here's Miyamoto
  • Full live orchestra and choir, though the choir now left.
  • They were performing the theme for Skyward Sword
  • He's talking about music and how important it is to the Legend of Zelda franchise.
  • The orchestra is going to play some Legend of Zelda themes and music effects
  • Link's Awakening will be the first title available in the Gameboy Color Virtual Console lineup for the 3DS eShop
  • Every Nintendo console is getting a Zelda game for the 25th Anniversary.
  • You already know Ocarina of Time is releasing for 3DS later this month.
  • In September, DSi is getting The Legend of Zelda Four Swords FOR FREE
  • Skyward Sword will be available this holiday season for Wii
  • There will be a special gold Wii remote as a promotion when Skyward Sword releases.
  • There will also be 25th Anniversary concerts in each region around the world
  • Two music CD's: an OST for Ocarina of Time 3D and one based on the 25th Anniversary Symphony concerts.
  • They're thanking all of us and all of you for supporting Zelda over the years... and the orchestra is sinking back into the pit.
  • Now Iwata is coming out. He's talking about how Wii, DS, and 3DS have smashed standard demographics of gamers.
  • He's talking about Project Cafe. They want Project Cafe to have deeper and wider appeal than any previous console.
  • Full details for Project Cafe...a little later this morning. (group sigh)
  • Definitely next year for Project Cafe. We already knew that, but still.
  • Several new franchises heading to 3D. First up, Mario Kart 3DS
  • Star Fox. Mario Bros... With the raccoon suit
  • Kid Icarus. Luigi's Mansion.
  • It's Reggie-time!
  • Talking about how we want the old AND the new. Is it possible to deliver something for everyone?
  • Those were just teaser trailers earlier, details are certainly on the way.
  • Mario Kart is up first. You can deploy a hang glider, now racing underwater
  • You can customize your kart (a little). Coming this holiday season.
  • Next up: Star Fox. You can use buttons for control or steer by turning and tilting the 3DS itself
  • You can see the faces of people you're actually playing with in multiplayer using the 3DS cameras. Star Fox 64 3D, coming this
  • September to North America
  • Super Mario Bros. up now. Brand new Super Mario adventure.
  • Showing all kinds of new platforming elements to take advantage of the 3D
  • And of course, the beloved raccoon suit.
  • All of these are 3DS games right now. Super Mario 3D before the end of 2011
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising. Showing off more gameplay, both flying and ground-based combat
  • Multiplayer! Looks to be some sweet PvP action
  • 3 vs 3 multiplayer action will be available on the show floor, so look for our preview. Uprising is coming out this year.
  • Luigi's Mansion 2. Luigi's got his vacuum back, now in 3D
  • Not a GameCube port, but a brand new 3D game. Several new mansions in the game, no release window given.
  • Montage time. RE: Mercenaries, Ace Combat 3D, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, Tetris, Cave Story 3D
  • RE: Revelations, Driver Renegade, Pac-Man and Galaga Dimensions, Tekken 3D. MGS Snake Eater 3D
  • 10 separate 3D game trailers will be available on the 3DS eshop soon, game trailers available later this year
  • Some older games will be given a 3D makeover like the currently available ExciteBike. 3D Classics
  • Pokemon. The 3D PokeDex is available on the eShop that uses augmented reality
  • You register Pokemon through Spotpass, QR codes, and sharing with friends. Oh, and it's free
  • Already available on the eShop if you've downloaded the update.
  • Proper introduction to a new "gaming companion". Welcome Project Cafe.
  • Reggie is talking about the Wii name and what the new console's name is.
  • It will be called: Wii U. Project Cafe officially named Wii U
  • We will all enjoy it together, but it will also be enjoyed by you.
  • The controller has a HUGE screen. Looks more like a tablet. A video
  • Shows a guy playing on Wii, then switching the game to the Wii U. Playing games directly on the controller, drawing on the screen
  • Using it to guide a baseball glove. Playing Wii Fit without a TV
  • Mounting it on a gun controller. Throwing stars by aiming at the TV and swiping the screen
  • So much coming SO fast right now, hard to keep up
  • Zelda with the item menu on the screen
  • That might just be a controller for the Wii, not the new console, waiting to find out.
  • 6.2 inch screen. Microphone, speakers, accelerometer, gyroscope, and backward facing camera
  • Not a portable video game machine
  • The images are generated by the Wii U (yes, definitely a system) and transmitted wirelessly to the controller
  • Fully backwards compatible to all Wii games
  • Lots of great integrated entertainment uses. Now on to games.
  • It's a system, but the emphasis so far has been on the controller
  • Smash Bros. coming for both 3DS and Wii U
  • They will work together in some way. Reggie's coming back to talk about Wii U software
  • "8 different interactive experiences"
  • These will be like the tech demos for 3DS last year.
  • Showing a video, definitely a graphical upgrade from Wii. HD.
  • A bird flying through a grove of cherry trees, showing off the Wii U's capabilities
  • Showing off New Super Mario Bros. Mii (working title), playing Mario Bros with your Mii
  • Chase Mii. the new controller shows a bird's eye view of those chasing you.
  • A shooter where two people are using Wii Remotes to shoot at a spaceship, the Wii U controller shows the view from the spaceship shooting back
  • LEGO City Stories officially announced for Wii U. Exclusive to Wii U and 3DS
  • A video of publishers and devs talking about why they like Wii U
  • Darksiders II, new Tekken, Arkham City, Assassin's Creed. Ghost Recon Online.
  • Darksiders II will be at launch, Assassin's Creed will use the multiple screens for multiplayer
  • Footage now of Darksiders II. Dirt
  • Aliens Colonial Marines. Ghost Recon Online. Metro Last Night. Tekken
  • As said before, this is a new console. Ninja Gaiden 3
  • EA is coming up on stage. That's right, a 3rd party on stage at Nintendo!
  • Mass Effect for WiiU anyone? Talking about his excitement about Wii U, showing a video of Madden, now Battlefield 3
  • Deeper online capability than previous Nintendo systems.
  • The 3DS games will be available right out side of the Nokia Theatre.
