A retailer let slip first word earlier today about Nintendo's plans for a Wii revival of Super Nintendo's Super Mario All-Stars. Nintendo has now confirmed those plans.
Actually, what Nintendo has confirmed is the existence of a game called Super Mario Collection Special Pack. The game appears on Nintendo's newly updated release calendar with a 21st October 2010 release date. Nintendo has yet to actually share details on the game, though.
The retailer report mentioned that this is a revival of All-Stars, which is known in Japan as Super Mario Collection. This presumably means that it will include Super Mario Bros, Mario 2, Mario 3 and Super Mario USA. The retailer also said to expect some sweet goods, including a booklet and soundtrack CD.
