GOG.com have announced a partnership with Square Enix, which sees the publisher join the ever-growing list to bring its classic titles to GOG.com. The first two Square-Enix titles to hit the service are Eidos classics; Hitman: Codename 47 and Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition, and per GOG practice they will be DRM free, optimized for current hardware set-ups, and come with bonuses.
Hitman: Codename 47 comes with four HD wallpapers, two reference cards, four avatars, and other goodies and will cost US $5.99. Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition comes with a free soundtrack, two HD wallpapers, avatar, and more, and will cost US $9.99.
GOG promises that more Square Enix games will be coming to the service in future weeks, and will soon be announced. We'd expect most of those to come from Square's library of Eidos titles, though maybe the PC ports of Final Fantasy VII and VIII will come back, even if they are a slim possibility. You never know. In any case, this is pretty cool. I always love it when GOG scores a big name.
