Ubisoft is pulling out all of the promotional stops for Rayman Origins at the minute and have revealed two new features for the PlayStation Vita version of its 2D platformer with animated-style graphics. Unfortunately, they also revealed that a feature in the console version won't make it into the PS Vita version of the game.
Before getting into the features, Ubisoft PR Specialist Alex Monney announced on the US PlayStation Blog that all of the beauty of the animation style and frantic gameplay from the PS3 version made it into the Vita version fully intact.
The first new feature is that the game has a new zoom feature, accessible by pinching the touch screen. The zoom enables players to better see the level of detail in the animation, as well as find hidden secrets. The second new feature is Ghost Mode, where players can challenge each other's ghosts in speed runs for the best times. Unfortunately, though, Monney also confirmed in the comments that multiplayer is not included in the game :
"No multiplayer in the Vita version. However, the Ghost Mode will definitely let you connect with your friends for some Rayman Origins wackiness."

In addition to announcing the new features for Rayman Origins, Ubisoft are making sure that their top priority for Rayman Origins is to deliver an experience that was on par with consoles, and to make sure that the game would be out in time for the launch of the PlayStation Vita.
Speaking to VG247, Boujemaa El Hiba, producer at Ubisoft Casablanca explained that while the Vita offers some unique control options, their primary goal was to give gamers the same quality experience that is available on consoles, which meant keeping the core controls intact.
"For this project, we had two main objectives: make Rayman Origins part of the launch lineup for PS Vita and offer PS Vita players the same game experience that Michel Ancel brought to home consoles."
"While we are excited that we are able to utilize the touch screen and the Near function, but we really had to keep the core of the controls and game intact."
"We will surely plan to take full advantage of the PS Vita capabilities in our future projects."
