RUMOUR : 'GTA V' Vehicle List Found in Max Payne 3 Source Code Links : Comments | Forum Topic | Posted by Matt Stanyon | Date : Wednesday 16th May 2012 @ 10:00 AM GMT
A member of the GTAForums has posted source code "a friend had shown him" from Max Payne 3, which appears to contain a list of all the vehicles currently slated to appear in Grand Theft Auto V, including forty eight cars, five bikes, ten helicopters, one plane, twenty five boats and nine trains, many of which will be familiar to longtime fans.
It's not inconceivable that such a list would be available in Max Payne 3 as Rockstar Games is known to share engine tech between projects and development groups, however, with GTA V's release date still unconfirmed it's likely that it is still incomplete. It does lend some weight to theories that GTA V will launch later this year.

Pachter Seen & Excited by "Big, Unannounced PS Vita Title" Links : Comments | Forum Topic | Posted by Matt Stanyon | Date : Monday 14th May 2012 @ 19:30 PM GMT
GameTrailers have recently released the latest episode of the Bonus Round, which focuses on the predictions and expectations from Sony for E3 2012, and during the show, Wedbush Securities industry analyst, Michael Pachter has revealed that he has already seen a big PS Vita title that hasn't been revealed yet.
Here is what Michael Pachter said on the Bonus Round :
"There is one big title on the Vita that hasn't been announced yet that I was pretty excited about."
As an analyst, it's pretty certain that the game must have high sales potential to be exciting, rather than being exciting from a gameplay or innovation perspective, but our question is, what could the game be?
Well, we already know that Rockstar Games is working on a Vita game, and Liberty City Stories has sold an incredible 8 million copies on PSP to date, along with over 4.5 million copies of Vice City Stories sold on PSP, it certainly isn't too far fetched to presume that their Vita title is a GTA one, and that it would excite Pachter, hence meaning that Michael Pachter has seen a new Grand Theft Auto title running on Sony's PlayStation Vita.
Other possibles include a new Gold of War for Vita, which would make a lot of PSP owners upgrade, or even a new Vita-exclusive Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter or Driver title. Some wild possibilities are that it could be a Vita version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Driver: San Francisco, Resident Evil 6 or even Grand Theft Auto V.
What do you think it is, or what do you want it to be? Let us know your thoughts and ideas.
Analyst Colin Sebastian Expects 'Grand Theft Auto V' in 2013, Not 2012 Links : Comments | Forum Topic | Posted by Matt Stanyon | Date : Saturday 12th May 2012 @ 23:20 PM GMT
According to Baird analyst Colin Sebastian, Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V won't be released in 2012, but will instead see a release sometime in early 2013. This is very different from what Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter believes, as he thinks that the delay of BioShock: Infinite from October 2012 to February 2013 could leave the door open for Grand Theft Auto V.
Colin Sebastian went on to say that he reckons 2012's biggest sellers will be Max Payne 3, Diablo III, Black Ops II, Halo 4, Assassin's Creed: Revelations and EA's sports games (Madden, FIFA, etc).
So, if Grand Theft Auto V is to be released in 2012, then we expect something official from Rockstar Games in the near future - perhaps on 22nd May 2012, when Take-Two provides its Q4 FY12 results, or just before E3 in June 2012.
Pachter Speaks Out on BioShock: Infinite Delay & Possible 'GTAV' in 2012 Links : Comments | Forum Topic | Posted by Matt Stanyon | Date : Wednesday 9th May 2012 @ 14:00 PM GMT
We already know that BioShock Infinite has been delayed from October to February 2013, and we even said in our previous article that it could've been done in order to clear the path for Grand Theft Auto 5's release later this year, and now CVG has spoken with industry analyst Michael Pachter, who actually agrees with what we said.
Here is what industry analyst Michael Pachter said :
"If (and that is a BIG 'if') there is any coordination within Take-Two among Rockstar and 2K Games, it makes a lot of sense that management would have shifted BioShock Infinite to make room for GTA V."
"It's entirely possible that the Rockstar team just committed to delivering GTA V on October 23 (write that in ink on your calendar), and Take-Two management thought it imprudent to launch their two biggest games of the year a week apart. I'm sure Irrational will make judicious use of the extra time, if the foregoing scenario is true."
"It's also entirely possible that Ken Levine and Irrational have truly decided to make the greatest game ever, and it will merely take another four months to finish ;-)"
Wedbush Securities has said in its latest note that the delay of BioShock: Infinite “opens the window for Grand Theft Auto V to be released in October 2012,” and that an October release would make sense as Rockstar has scheduled every prior GTA releases during that month, with the exception of with GTA IV which was delayed into April 2008 “due to bugs in the PS3 version.”
It is being speculated by analysts at the firm once Rockstar notified Take-Two GTA V would be ready by October, the company gave Irrational Games the “option to spend more time fine-tuning BioShock Infinite.”
“Although we were confident that both games would sell millions of units when it appeared that they would be released in close proximity, we think that the delay will alleviate any wallet-share concerns and ensure that both games receive the undivided attention of Take-Two's management and marketing teams, and will ensure that retail support is optimized.”
Wedbush Securities went on to say that since Take-Two did not “update its prior FY13 guidance,” despite its history of “providing conservative guidance,” the analysts are “skeptical Take-Two can achieve Financial Year 2013 earnings guidance without a GTA game, and that upon release, the analysts expect GTA V to sell at least 18 million units, which represents a “20% attach rate to the 2012 year-end installed base of PS3 and Xbox 360 in the US and Europe.”
The firm closed by saying it expects an update on the release of GTA V as early as May 22 when Take-Two provides its Q4 FY12 results, or during E3.
“If there is no update on either date, we believe it is unlikely that GTA V will launch this calendar year."
Right now, Grand Theft Auto V could see a launch either in 2012 or 2013, but if it did come in October 2012, then that would be five months after Max Payne 3 and four months before BioShock: Infinte, which would fit perfectly. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts and ideas.
BioShock: Infinite Delayed to February 2013, Hope for 'GTAV' in 2012? Links : Comments | Forum Topic | Posted by Matt Stanyon | Date : Wednesday 9th May 2012 @ 14:00 PM GMT
Take Two have announced today that BioShock: Infinite, which was due for release in October 2012, has been delayed and will now be released on 26th February 2013.
"When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we've come to realize that some specific tweaks and improvements will make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need, we've decided to move the game's release to February 26, 2013. We wanted to let our loyal (and very patient!) fans know this as soon as possible."
So, what does this all mean for Grand Theft Auto V? Previous evidence pointed towards both an October 2012 and May 2013 release schedule for the game, and now that BioShock: Infinite has been delayed until February 2013, it does open up a huge gap in Take-Two's release calender, afer the launch of Max Payne 3, which is out next week.
Michael Pachter said last month that he expects Grand Theft Auto V to launch on 23rd October 2012, which was a few days after Bioshock Infinite would've originally launched, but is now free thanks to the delay, and I doubt that Grand Theft Auto V would now be released in May 2013 due to close it is to BioShock: Infinite's new release date.
Right now, Grand Theft Auto V could see a launch either in 2012 or 2013, but if it did come in October 2012, then that would be five months after Max Payne 3 and four months before BioShock: Infinte, which would fit perfectly. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts and ideas.
